Zadara completes IRAP assessment following Australian edge cloud expansion

Edge cloud provider Zadara has announced its completion of Australia’s Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) process, in a bid to comply with Information Security Manual Protected level controls. The assessment coincides with the expansion of Zadara’s edge cloud, marked by the launch of a new availability zone in Melbourne, Australia.

IRAP, overseen by the Australian Cyber Security Centre, serves as a framework for accrediting individuals to assess cybersecurity services for the Australian government, both in the public and private sectors. Zadara’s completion of the IRAP assessment underscores its adherence to standards, ensuring security, integrity, and regulatory compliance, according to the company. The company also notes that the move reaffirms Zadara’s dedication to delivering secure cloud services, particularly for organizations catering to the Australian government.

In addition to IRAP, Zadara boasts an array of certifications including SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO27001, ISO27017, ISO27018, ISO27701, HIPAA, and EU GDPR, further bolstering its credibility in the realm of cloud security.

Paul Bennett, sales director at Zadara, emphasized the significance of Zadara’s IRAP Protected designation for Australian government agencies.

“Zadara’s IRAP Protected designation will give Australian government agencies more choice when looking for services to securely build modern applications in the cloud. With our new availability zone in Melbourne, we plan to expand and add edge clouds in several Australian cities this year. Zadara is committed to making the Australian cloud market more competitive and takes pride in supporting governments worldwide by providing sovereign, secure private clouds,” adds Bennett.

With plans to expand and establish more edge clouds across various Australian cities in the coming year, Zadara aims to foster competitiveness in the Australian cloud market while supporting governments globally with sovereign, secure private clouds.

Zadara’s IRAP-assessed cloud solution offers features, including cost containment through automated user access management, streamlined verification and authorization processes, and protection against cyber threats—an increasingly critical aspect in safeguarding government networks and critical infrastructure.

With established locations in Sydney and Melbourne, Zadara boasts a global network of over 500 edge clouds, providing advanced compute, storage, and networking services.
