Spectro Cloud and HPE launch ‘Edge-in-a-Box’ for far-edge Kubernetes

Spectro Cloud has launched an “Edge in a Box” solution in collaboration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) to facilitate enterprise Kubernetes adoption.

The solution combines Spectro Cloud’s Palette Edge software with HPE ProLiant DL145 Gen11 servers, tailored for AI, Kubernetes, and VM workloads at the edge.

It utilizes the Secure Edge Native Architecture (SENA) for enhanced security from hardware to application.

Designed for challenging “far edge” environments, it addresses issues like limited IT skills, intermittent connectivity, and diverse hardware requirements. The solution features plug-and-play deployment, making it accessible for non-IT personnel.

“While Kubernetes is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, its complexity, shortage of related skills and the need for better management that is optimized to specifically address today’s needs to support modern applications and AI at scale have given rise to the need for a purpose-built ‘edge-native’ platform,” says Spectro Cloud Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer Dave Cope. “With the distributed nature of far edge environments, the unique challenges and requirements needed must span a tightly-coordinated set of capabilities delivered by both hardware and software elements. Spectro Cloud is delivering an edge-in-a-box appliance that makes deploying and managing these environments powerful and cost-effective.”

It supports various application stacks, including AI models, and allows for zero-downtime updates. The integrated solution is now available globally, aiming to simplify edge computing management.

Spectro Cloud’s Palette platform provides unified management across clouds, data centers, and edge environments.

The company is recognized as a leader in edge Kubernetes management by various industry analysts. Spectro Cloud recently raised $75 million in a Series C funding round.
