Scale Computing expands HyperCore with self-healing virtualization and edge AI support

Scale Computing, an edge computing solutions provider, unveiled new updates to its SC//HyperCore virtualization platform that combines servers, virtualization, and SAN storage into an all-in-one appliance to make it simple for organizations to implement edge computing.

SC//HyperCore is self-healing, which simplifies IT and reduces costs by automatically keeping applications online.

Major updates include Enhanced Node Lifecycle Management that allows stress-free addition, replacement or removal of nodes without interrupting workloads.

“At Scale Computing, we take great pride in providing industry-leading, innovative infrastructure solutions to our partners and customers. As more organizations today look to implement AI automation, they require the right infrastructure and management framework to be successful. The enhancements we’ve made to SC//HyperCore allow users to implement and support automation, and to maintain and scale infrastructure with minimal downtime,” says Craig Theriac, vice president, product management at Scale Computing. “From computer vision for security and quality control to predictive analytics in retail and manufacturing, our solutions allow users to run advanced inferencing workloads at the edge with supported GPU appliances, delivering the performance, resiliency, and low‑latency processing AI demands. Modern IT teams across organizations of any size and any vertical need infrastructure that is both scalable and programmable, and SC//HyperCore provides just that. We make sure AI automation can operate effectively and efficiently, wherever you need it.”

New features include agentless backup integration with Veeam, usability improvements such as VM console text pasting, and enriched REST APIs to facilitate developer support.

SC//HyperCore now has Terraform support for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and the automation of VM lifecycle and resource management. The platform is capable of running both legacy and modern workloads, including the AI/ML, enabling real-time decision-making and insights directly at the edge.

SC//HyperCore eliminates the requirement for independent suppliers of hypervisors, storage and backup and provides a single cost effective one stop solution.

Acumera recently acquired Scale Computing combining their expertise in edge computing.
