Nokia, DXC Technology come together to provide a private wireless network and digitalization platform
Nokia has disclosed its collaboration with DXC Technology to develop a comprehensive solution for private wireless networks and 5G managed services.
This joint effort will include hardware and software development in areas such as radio access network (RAN), core, OT-grade network edge, CBRS and other integrated capabilities for private networks.
Nokia and DXC Technology plan to partner to provide secure connectivity tools for organizations in manufacturing, energy, healthcare, supply chain and transportation. As digital transformation progresses, secure connectivity has become an essential aspect of organizations.
Within this collaboration, Nokia combines its Digital Automation Cloud and MX Industrial Edge with DXC’s Platform X. This integration offers monitoring and analytical abilities to enterprises that work across various industrial edge use cases. The company says the announcement has already generated considerable traction, particularly in the oil and gas industry. This joint solution assists organizations in improving their operational efficiency and ensuring their connected networks’ security.
“Our partnership with Nokia allows us to deliver an innovative and future-proof solution, empowering our customers to achieve greater operational efficiency, IT and OT convergence, and maintain robust data privacy,” says Brian Miller, the global lead of applications at DXC Technology.
The DXC Platform X is an automation platform utilizing edge data to deliver actionable, real-time insights. It claims to automatically diagnose and resolve up to 75 percent of incidents without human intervention. This solution is specifically designed to identify, prevent and address ongoing issues within the IT edge infrastructure.

Nokia and Telenor Sweden have joined forces to launch two new services that use 5G connectivity capabilities. These services include customer-specific mobile private networks and network slicing implementation to enhance resource allocation. This collaboration builds upon their partnership, as they previously worked together in Denmark to conduct a trial for a 5G mobile network.
