Lanner Electronics, Cvedia launch edge AI solution for video intelligence in Smart Cities
Lanner Electronics, a manufacturer of edge appliances, and Cvedia, an AI-based video intelligence solutions provider, teamed up to launch a next-generation edge AI solution for traffic monitoring applications. According to the companies, Using Lanner’s intelligent edge computing applications in sync with Cvedia’s real-time video analytics allows users to access optimized video intelligence at the edge for intelligent traffic systems and smart cities.
Traffic management systems are an essential element of smart city ecosystems. For example, a poor traffic system will lead to vehicle congestion and challenges in planning for future city development. The new edge AI solution provides video analytics based on synthetic data to reduce false positives and increase product efficiency.
“Lanner’s partnership with Cvedia delivers to system integrators a turnkey, all-in-one platform edge AI platform composed of a powerful edge computing appliance with truly advanced video analytics capabilities that have lower false positive rates than many other solutions on the market,” said Jeans Tseng, CTO of Lanner Electronics.
Powered by the Nvidia Jetson NX and Intel Apollo Lake CPU, the LEC-7242H and EAI-1130 edge computing devices provide secure and low-latency connectivity. Suitable for remote edge locations, the appliances can withstand harsh weather conditions. With a fanless design, the hardware platforms can operate in a wide range of operating conditions, from -20C to 70C.
“CVEDIA’s synthetic data pipeline removes data bottlenecks while the company’s computer vision expertise accelerates deployment processes, allowing CVEDIA to pass on the cost savings to its enterprise customers,” said AJ Wijnveen, co-founder and CEO of CVEDIA.
The company will deploy the LEC-7242H and EAI-1130 edge AI solutions at the Lanner Electronics’ booth at the ITS World Congress, held in Los Angeles during September 19-22, 2022.
Last year, Lanner Electronics and Tensor Networks announced a strategic partnership to integrate Lanner’s Whitebox Solutions with Tensor Networks’ AI platform. This collaboration resulted in networking and distributed processing for communication service providers. Cvedia also recently partnered with Hailo AI to launch their next-gen thermal edge AI solution. This solution combines Cvedia’s synthetic data technology with the Hailo-8 AI processor.
