HiveMQ releases starter plan for fast deployment of MQTT solutions
HiveMQ has announced the HiveMQ Cloud Starter Plan, a managed, self-service MQTT platform that offers unlimited connections and devices. Such an offering could enable more rapid deployment of an enterprise-level MQTT solution for HiveMQ customers with business-critical use cases such as connected cars, logistics and Industry 4.0.
“We feel this will be a game changer for adopting MQTT from the developer to the enterprise,” says Dominik Obermaier, the co-founder and CTO of HiveMQ.
According to a 2022 survey from IoT Analytics, MQTT is gaining popularity for IoT connections and executives expect adoption to increase by over 29% during the next two years.
HiveMQ Cloud offers four different plans: serverless, starter, professional and enterprise. Serverless is community-supported and multi-tenant, while starter and professional are self-service and single-tenant with hourly payment options. Enterprise, on the other hand, provides dedicated MQTT infrastructure with custom systems integration for scaling enterprise projects.
HiveMQ Cloud says the four plans meet customers’ needs of any size, budget and deployment stage. The serverless and starter plans work for pilot projects. In contrast, company executives say the professional and enterprise plans provide a more feature-rich offering with scalability.
The company claims that its HiveMQ Cloud simplifies the development, testing, deployment and scaling of IoT use cases for customers in any industry. It provides a free option to get started, with additional features available to enable security, observability, administration and data integrations as needed.
“We are proud to be the first and only MQTT platform on the market to offer multiple plans that are not capped by the number of connections to the platform,” adds Obermaier.
