Gartner’s Hype Cycle report spotlights Avassa in the edge computing space

Avassa, an edge management and operations solution provider, was recently recognized as a sample vendor in the Gartner Hype Cycle report for edge computing. The Gartner Hype Cycle report provides insights into technology maturity, adoption and social application.

Avassa is recognized as a sample vendor in two categories: Edge management and orchestration as well as edge PaaS. According to Gartner, edge management and orchestration refers to software and solutions for managing distributed edge locations, and edge PaaS is a cloud-oriented application platform for capacity-constrained edge environments.

Avassa’s CEO, Fredrik Lundberg, expresses excitement about the company’s recognition in Gartner’s Hype Cycle Report for edge computing.

“This acknowledgment accentuates the effectiveness and the groundbreaking nature of our edge application management and operations solution,” Lundberg says.

The company emphasizes that its inclusion shows Avassa’s commitment to delivering advanced application and infrastructure management solutions in the dynamic realm of edge computing.

Avassa executives say its management and operations platform offers a solution for managing distributed on-site edge systems. The recognition as a sample vendor in these categories underscores Avassa’s advancement in bridging the gap between application-centric approaches in the centralized cloud and the complexities of the remote, distributed and resource-constrained on-site edge.

Avassa’s edge platform for orchestrating, managing and monitoring applications running at the edge aims to help companies take the flexibility of cloud tooling and apply it to the edge. Avassa says it allows businesses in distributed environments to improve customer experiences and optimize core operations through improved edge computing solutions.

In a recent Fireside Chat with Edge Industry Review, EdgeIR interviewed Carl Moberg, CTO of Avassa, discussing enterprise computing and the rise of cloud-to-edge topology in enterprise architecture. The company plans to simplify application lifecycle management and monitoring with a solution that manages distributed applications across distributed on-premises edge environments.
