DartPoints expands reach, acquires three Louisiana regional edge data centers from Venyu

DartPoints has acquired Venyu, a data center and cloud services provider based in Louisiana.

This acquisition adds three new data centers in Louisiana to DartPoints’ portfolio, bringing its total to eleven data centers across ten markets in five states and three regions of the U.S. It also increases DartPoints’ total data center space to over 325,000 square feet and its power capacity to 20 megawatts.

“We are thrilled to now serve hundreds of enterprises and service provider customers in Louisiana and around the country by way of three top-tier data centers in Baton Rouge and Shreveport,” says Scott Willis, the CEO of DartPoints. “Serving edge markets is where our passion and expertise lie, and this acquisition expands our geographic coverage to a third region: the South Central U.S.”

As an early pioneer of offsite data backup and disaster recovery services utilizing virtualization, Venyu has a proven track record of innovation and leadership in this space, DartPoints says. Venyu’s data centers, including the Shreveport facility, uphold high-security standards through a proven set of protocols and safeguards.

DartPoints asserts that the acquisition of Venyu’s three data centers aligns with its strategy of investing in edge infrastructure to support the growth of data security and related services.

“Today marks the beginning of a terrific new chapter for Venyu,” says Josh Descant, the CEO of REV, Venyu’s former parent company. “By joining the DartPoints team, Venyu can continue to deliver on its customer-focused mission to source, implement, and manage complete IT ecosystems — and now with enhanced infrastructure and a deeper bench.”

Brad Alexander, the company’s CTO, talked about the company’s strategy around providing regional edge datacenter services earlier this year in an interview with EdgeIR.

Last summer, DartPoints was in the news when it was selected by the University of South Carolina to deliver personalized software-defined data center solutions for all of its campuses statewide.
