Cat-Tec chooses Scale Computing to modernize, simplify IT infrastructure with HCI approach

Ontario, Canada-based Cat-Tec was looking for a hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) solution to help them manage and scale its distributed infrastructure more efficiently and cost-effectively. Cat-Tec previously relied on a mixture of VMware, Nutanix and Hyper-V virtualization technologies to run its infrastructure. However, Cat-Tec says the cost and complexity of these solutions led them to switch to Scale Computing.

The company says that with Scale Computing’s  SC//Fleet Manager tool, IT leaders can use real-time information about storage and computing resources across their cluster fleet to identify any potential issues from one central location.

Cat-Tec chose Scale Computing as its hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) solution due to its simplified modular architecture and integrated backup system for resilience in disruptions.

“This means we can now devote more time helping customers solve real problems rather than just constantly having to put out fires,” adds Isabella. “It’s not an exaggeration to say that Scale Computing has completely transformed our business.”

Scale Computing was in the news earlier this month for expanding its edge video surveillance solutions to include cloud video storage in partnership with Wasabi Surveillance Cloud and Intel NUC Enterprise Edge Compute built with Scale Computing.

The company claims that its user-friendly appliance solution provides limitless storage and smoothly integrates across all platforms, from the edge to the cloud.
