AWS selects two edge companies for Black Founders acceleration fund
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has named two edge startups — CyDeploy and EyeGage — as its inaugural cohort for the AWS Impact Accelerator for Black Founders.
CyDeploy, a Baltimore, Maryland-based company, offers automated testing of information technology and internet of things systems to preview the effects of impending updates. It creates a copy of the system on the cloud and allows the enterprise to test the impact of planned security configurations or patches to ensure cybersecurity readiness.
The startup says it will help lower downtime from updates and cut down on labor needs.
And in Atlanta, Georgia, EyeGage brings an intelligent drug and alcohol screening app that scans the eye of the subject to detect impairment. It is intended for high-risk workplaces, insurance companies, and integration into automobiles.
The AWS Impact Accelerator for Black Founders is part of the AWS Impact Accelerator, a $30 million series of programs to support “high-potential, pre-seed startups led by underrepresented founders,” covering race, gender, and sexual orientation.
