Zededa secures leadership spot in 2023 Spark Edge Management and Orchestration Platform

Quadrant Knowledge Solutions has recognized Zededa as the 2023 technology leader in the Spark Matrix: Edge Management and Orchestration (EMO) platform.

Zededa says this recognition reinforces its commitment to providing secure edge computing solutions across multiple industries, such as manufacturing, telecommunications, smart cities and autonomous vehicles.

Edge management and orchestration is a dynamic market where vendors invest strategically in acquisitions, in-house development and collaborative ecosystems. The Spark Matrix by Quadrant Knowledge Solutions offers analysis and ranking of technology vendors to help users assess vendor capabilities, competitive differentiation and market positions.

Ignatius Daniel T, an analyst at Quadrant Knowledge Solutions, states: “Zededa’s platform architecture comprises the EVE-OS, a bare metal virtualization engine, and Zededa Cloud, a SaaS-based controller. These components come together to offer a complete edge infrastructure that can deploy and manage thousands of nodes with extended zero-trust security capabilities.”

Zededa provides an edge orchestration service that includes an open-source edge operating system from the Linux Foundation and a cloud-based management console. With this service, customers can efficiently manage large fleets of edge compute and deploy various AI edge applications, including legacy and cloud-native ones.

Raghu Vatte, the field CTO and VP of product management at Zededa, comments: “We are delighted to be recognized as the Leader in this Spark Matrix competitive analysis. Our customers depend on us to deliver the secure and flexible infrastructure their critical edge computing projects require, and this validation further showcases our commitment to building innovative, industry-leading solutions that solve real-world problems.”

Edge management and orchestration, as defined by Quadrant Knowledge Solutions, refers to the comprehensive process of administering, automating and coordinating edge computing solutions, especially within the IoT landscape.

The EMO platform combines existing functions and modules to create edge computing solutions. It harmonizes service function components with remote backend services and local edge/IoT devices for efficient localized data processing, according to the company. This framework encompasses aspects such as discovery, provisioning, configuration, monitoring, security, performance optimization, lifecycle management and service coordination.

Zededa also recently won the 2023 Industrial IoT Product of the Year and the 2023 IoT Evolution Product of the Year.
