Telefónica Tech chooses Zscaler Cloud Security to power Security Edge services
Telefónica Tech announced it will use Zscaler’s Cloud Security to underpin the company’s new managed services offering, Security Edge Services. Telefónica’s Security Edge combines Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) functions, which are the security components that unifies secure access to the web, cloud services and private applications.
Telefónica Tech, a unit of Spanish telecoms firm Telefónica, offers a range of integration and professional services, including a cyber security services portfolio that includes MDR (managed detection and response). The Zscaler partnership will add in a new managed security service built around the Zero Trust model. The Zero Trust model works on user identity with parameters including location, device, application and content, and then creates secure direct user-to-app, app-to-app, and machine-to-machine connections.
Zscaler’s Zero Trust Exchange cloud-native security platform is capable of analyzing over 200 billion daily transactions and extracting over 300 trillion signals to provide visibility into the edge ecosystem, the company said. They also provide data security and access control to enterprise data at scale and can offer an enhanced user experience. The incorporation of Zero Trust Exchange makes the complete Security Edge service effective for digital businesses that operate in a hybrid architecture, according to Telefónica Tech executives.

Telefónica Tech’s Security Edge helps customers by offering scalable and flexible security solutions for users, applications, and devices. For internet-based traffic, Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) provides a comprehensive range of security features.
