Sway AI joins forces with Trilogy Networks to bring AI and edge innovation to precision farming

No-code artificial intelligence (AI) applications provider Sway AI has started a new partnership with Trilogy Networks.

As part of the new collaboration, Sway AI will join the Rural Cloud Initiative (RCI), a group of network and edge-focused firms working to promote and accelerate the digital transformation of rural America.

The companies said that within RCI, Sway AI and Trilogy Networks will jointly work on delivering a complete AI-enabled precision agriculture solution for farmers.

According to Sway AI Chief Product Officer Jitender Arora, while agricultural software and applications are becoming more commonplace, there is a lack of comprehensive solutions that capture all of the data a farmer needs to make informed decisions. This is due to the vast difference between applications and types of agriculture.

“Even though more and more farmers are utilizing agricultural software and solutions, if you ask any farmer what applications they use, they’ll most likely have a half dozen or more disparate apps to manage their farms,” he explained.

“The sheer thought of the different technologies and applications a farmer has to rely on can be overwhelming, creates a barrier to entry, and also discourages sustained use,” he noted.

However, Sway AI and Trilogy Networks argue that, through the use of edge computing and specialized digital tools, this goal is now achievable.

Specifically, the firms said they will leverage RCI Partner Veea’s edge wireless technology and Trilogy Networks’ end-to-end digital agriculture platform to provide AI applications that act on farm-specific data via optimized farming technology created by Sway AI.

The resulting platform will be able to gather and combine data from multiple sources and sensors, including drones, robotics, local and historical data, to provide farmers with a holistic view of operations.

“Partnering with an edge cloud leader such as Trilogy Networks presents an incredible opportunity to empower America’s two million farms with AI,” commented Sway AI CEO Amir Atai.

“Through our AI applications, we hope to revolutionize the agricultural industry and also help with critical matters such as climate change and food shortages.”

Trilogy Networks has partnered with other companies as well on edge solutions for agricultural applications. In October last year, the company entered into a strategic agreement with Inland Cellular worth $15 million.
