Software AG Government Solutions, DH2i to help federal cloud uptime via Kubernetes

DH2i, a provider of always-on IT infrastructure, has partnered with Software AG Government Solutions to offer solutions for complex IT ecosystems. As part of the collaboration, Software AG Government Solutions will integrate its FedRAMP-authorized cloud with DH2i DxEnterprise smart high availability clustering software. The companies say their goal is to reduce the downtime of the SQL server availability group Kubernetes cluster.

DH2i and Software AG Government Solutions will provide this solution to US federal, state and local government customers. They also target integrated solutions for aerospace and defense industry clients.

“Container use is growing exponentially for digital transformation projects in the government, aerospace and defense industries,” said Jeff Estes. “Using DxEnterprise to manage our SQL Server AGs in Kubernetes enables us to deliver zero downtime for our customers running our Alfabet software.”

Software AG Government Solutions explains that the US federal government uses containerized Kubernetes applications to enhance performance, scalability and portability. That said, deploying SQL server AGs in Kubernetes remains a complex task for organizations.

At the 2022 Pass Data Community Summit, Jeff Estes, senior director for systems engineering at Software AG Government Solutions, gave a presentation on using DH2i DxEnterprise to deploy highly available SQL server availability groups in EKS certified for FedRAMP.

Software AG Government Solutions’ FedRAMP offering provides security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring of cloud services for the government sector. DH2i DxEnterprise gave customers SQL Server Availability Group support for SQL Server containers in Kubernetes clusters.

Earlier this year, DH2i announced the general availability of its DxEnterprise version 22, which features a new container sidecar to enable application-level high availability clustering for containers in Kubernetes. For developers, the DxEnterprise sidecar comes with three deployment benefits: isolation, quick deployment and scalability.
