PhoenixNAP offers multi-cluster networking for BMC

PhoenixNAP took steps to advance its bare metal cloud (BMC) offerings by including a Kubernetes platform to connect apps in clusters through its BMC platform.

The bare metal provider added the Avesha KubeSlice orchestration tool from its BMC platform. phoenixNAP says it will connect applications across clusters in minutes, simplify Kubernetes networking, and help solve multi-cluster challenges. KubeSlice is said to automate network services to enable multi-cluster connectivity, enhance Kubernetes services to extend namespaces to the multi-cluster, provide deployment services to offer uniform policy and identity and access management for multi-cluster, and open service to service discovery across clusters with its application services.

“We built Bare Metal Cloud to help customers deploy and manage physical servers with cloud-like ease and simplicity. Bare Metal Cloud delivers cloud agility without the hypervisor overhead. We are excited to partner with Avesha to continue to innovate and make it easier to work with multi-cluster applications and provide a whole suite of capabilities that the Avesha platform provides,” says William Bell, executive vice president of products at phoenixNAP.

PhoenixNAP has been continuously updating its BMC with features to simplify the deployment of highly available (HA) multi-node Kubernetes clusters and a BMC controller for Kubernetes. In March, the company cut the ribbon for a BMC edge location in Austin, Texas for low-latency access in the region as well.
