pgEdge updates Postgres Cloud for higher resilience and faster Sync

pgEdge announced the latest release of pgEdge Cloud this week. It is a fully distributed Database as a Service (DBaaS) built on open-source PostgreSQL andoptimized for multi-cloud region deployments.

pgEdge Cloud includes multi-availability zone support for improved fault tolerance and high availability with the release, as well as expanded automatic conflict resolution and significant performance improvements in replication operations.

Multi-availability zone support allows deployment of multiple nodes within or across availability zones in a region. Expanded conflict resolution introduces smarter handling of issues such as duplicate inserts and unique constraint violations, simplifying application development in distributed environments.

“We are very pleased to announce that the latest release of pgEdge Cloud is available and, as before, built on standard open source PostgreSQL,” said Phillip Merrick, co-founder and CEO of pgEdge. “These key enhancements continue to support our mission to make it easy for developers to build, deploy, and run enterprise-class distributed Postgres applications across the global network.”

Performance upgrades include in-memory exception handling, improved lag tracking, and faster replication for better reliability in distributed clusters. pgEdge successfully completed SOC 2 Type II certification.

The new pgEdge Cloud is available for free sign-up, supporting developers in building enterprise-class distributed Postgres applications globally. pgEdge serves enterprises and government agencies, backed by investors including Akamai Technologies and Sands Capital Ventures.
