Pentagon backs Latent AI to sharpen battlefield intelligence at the edge
Latent AI, a leader in edge AI solutions, has been selected by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for the APFIT program to advance edge AI technologies for defense applications.
The award builds on the success of Project AMMO, which reduced AI model update times from months to days using Latent AI’s Efficient Inference Platform (LEIP). Project AMMO demonstrated the value of edge AI in enabling real-time decision-making in contested environments, initially focusing on naval mine countermeasures.
Latent AI joins four other companies in the APFIT program, with funding evenly distributed to enhance edge AI capabilities.
