Palo Alto Networks, Thales integrate Zero Trust security for cloud migration

Palo Alto Networks and Thales will integrate Zero Trust security solutions into their joint cloud migration collaboration, with the aim of ensuring a secure transition to the cloud.

Thales’ vice president of access management products Francois Lasnier says, “By applying and enforcing adaptive and multi-factor authentication at the network edge, and by responding to and stopping untrusted access events in real-time, Thales and Palo Alto Networks ensure organizations can make the move to the cloud successfully and securely.”

The two companies will launch new Zero Trust technology integrations to grant their clients access to internal resources within a highly resilient security architecture. It is aimed primarily at companies that have remote workforces dependent on the cloud.

Thales’ SafeNet Trusted Access will be integrated into Palo Alto Networks’ Prisma Access, GlobalProtect, Next Generation Firewalls, and Cortex XSOAR technologies. It will bring identity-aware contextual access controls and multi-factor authentication systems, access management across edge solutions, network security policies, incident response and threat intelligence management.

Tana Rosenblatt, vice president of technology partnerships at Palo Alto Networks, says, “Thales has partnered with us to help support customers through their digital transformation journeys, and in collaboration, we are well primed to provide a zero trust approach with authentication, SoC [System On a Chip] security and ZTNA [Zero Trust Network Access] solutions.”

Other edge security companies taking steps to secure enterprises with zero trust security include NetFoundry, which offers its products to Oracle Cloud-hosted independent software vendor (ISV) and Software as a Solution (SaaS) providers, and to event monitoring and alerting solution Prometheus.
