Nearby Computing, Celfocus unveil 5G deployment solution with Alepo’s SDM integration

Edge automation platform provider Nearby Computing and Celfocus, a provider of technology solutions, have teamed up to introduce a new solution for 5G deployment.

The solution combines a cloud-native 5G core with Alepo’s Subscriber Data Management (SDM) and converged policy control to offer a low resource footprint, minimizing initial investment and enabling service providers and private enterprises to deploy 5G networks faster, according to both companies.

Alepo’s SDM manages subscriber identities, service configurations, service subscriptions, and mobile access authentication to authorize services, and supports public, private, and hybrid deployments.

Alepo makes generative AI transformation opportunities for telcos, with the aim of delivering software solutions and services that enable communications service providers to increase revenue growth.

The collaborative solution aims to enable operators to meet market demands. The company says that the joint endeavor focuses on modernizing the underlying tech stack and offers NaaS – Network as a Service use case via Intent-driven Orchestration (IDO).

Speaking about the new solution, Josep Martí, CEO of Nearby Computing, says: “We are excited to collaborate with Celfocus to streamline and expedite the deployment of 5G solutions. Our edge automation platform, NearbyOne, significantly enhances the deployment process, enabling operators to unlock the full potential of 5G technology.”

According to a Gartner report, by 2025, 70% of CSPs will adopt optimization tools and practices to reduce cloud operations costs, an increase from 5% in 2022.

Marco Ungari, operations intelligence director at Celfocus, adds: “Our partnership with Nearby Computing underscores our dedication to empowering telecom operators with the latest 5G solutions. By combining our global reach and expertise with Nearby Computing’s automation prowess, we provide operators with the necessary tools to thrive in the 5G era.”

A report by Analysis Mason concludes that the demand for private networks continues to grow, with spending on private networks projected to reach $7.7 billion in 2027. Both companies note that managing and automating infrastructures, network functions, and applications need specific tools.
