MOD Mission Critical receives Microsoft partner status; Cogent opens Proximity PoP

MOD Mission Critical has become a Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute Connectivity partner, allowing customers to use the complete Microsoft office suite directly from the PaaSPort platform.

MOD Mission Critical provides Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions to over 420 carriers in over 200 data centers and 50 managed points of presence. The company’s flagship PaaSPort platform allows customers to deploy distributed edge computing applications with a single interface that controls and monitors the edge network.

“Our Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute Connectivity Partnership enhances our full suite of capabilities, able to support nearly any company anywhere,” said Mike Hollander, CEO of MOD Mission Critical. “MOD is focused on providing the most flexible and dynamic public and private access solution.”

According to the company, MOD Mission Critical provides customers with a platform to establish secure and dedicated network connections between different physical locations. The data transfer speed is 50 Mbps to 100 Gbps, which makes it ideal for businesses that need to move large amounts of data quickly and efficiently.

MOD’s PaaSPort platform makes it easy for enterprise customers to manage and connect multi-cloud, hybrid-cloud, and private cloud systems, the company says. Its comprehensive services also allow for simple monitoring of solution deployments across multiple clouds and networks.

Last year, the company announced its continued collaboration with Cologix to provide managed infrastructure services within the Cologix access marketplace.

Proximity Data Centres is now a point of presence for Cogent Communications

A UK-based edge colocation data center provider, Proximity Data Centres Limited has announced it’s now a strategic point of presence (PoP) for Cogent Communications.

Point of presence refers to the point where two or more networks or communication devices share a connection. Cogent Communications has already deployed its high-capacity dark fiber line in Proximity’s Nottingham and Chester Gates edge locations. With this, the ISP provider can expand its areas of high speed and low latency connectivity to include the Midlands and North West parts of the UK.

“We are pleased to be helping Cogent increase their regional footprint in the UK,” said John Hall, managing director of colocation at Proximity. “Their decision to choose Proximity Data Centres is a further example of how our edge sites are acting as strategic regional communications hubs for leading network and service providers.”

Proximity Data Centres also announced its edge data center site in Swindon to support virtual and augmented reality platforms, with the Grid Factory having selected its edge data center site in Swindon to support virtual and augmented reality platforms.
