Microsoft adds new Azure Certified edge devices powered by Nvidia Jetson
Microsoft revealed that the Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin system-on-module (SoM) is now running Azure Certified edge devices from device builders such as Aaeon, Advantech and AverMedia in addition to Nvidia’s own Jetson AGX Orin developer kit.
Developers can leverage the Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin system-on-module through various developer kits and production devices. Using the Nvidia DeepStream software development kit, developers can develop, deploy and operate AI solutions at the edge.
The Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin system-on-module delivers up to 275 TOPS of AI performance and incorporates power configuration options between 15W and 50W. The hardware device can provide 8x better performance than its predecessor, Nvidia Jetson AGX Xavier, in the same form factor. Inside, the Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin features all-new Nvidia Ampere architecture with 2048 Nvidia CUDA cores and 64 tensor cores for heavy AI workloads.
By collaborating, Microsoft and Nvidia established an enhanced edge device user experience, the companies said. Now, developers and clients can use Nvidia AGX Orin-powered edge devices to work on their latest IoT edge applications.
The company validates edge devices to connect with the Azure IoT hub and provision securely through the device provisioning service as part of the Microsoft Azure certified device certification program. By going through this process, they can verify that the device will work correctly and can communicate with other devices in complex IoT edge systems.
Last month, Vecow joined the Azure-certified device program, allowing its customers and partners to develop and deploy IoT solutions quickly.
