Lanner, Solomon unite to boost industrial productivity with portable AI vision solutions

Lanner Electronics, an intelligent edge computing solution, has joined forces with Solomon, an AI vision system software provider, to provide portable AI vision solutions to enhance smart manufacturing.

The partnership will focus on integrating Lanner’s edge AI appliance EAI-I131 with Solomon’s META-aivi Portable AI Vision System. The collaboration aims to reduce inspection time and improve accuracy by offering real-time AI-driven insights for factory inspection.

Jeans Tseng, CTO of Lanner Electronics, says: “We are committed to enabling AI computing power to the industrial edge. Our partnership with Solomon allows organizations to harness the full potential of edge AI to achieve significant improvements in AI-based visual inspection.”

The joint Portable AI Vision System combines Lanner’s industrial-grade AI inference appliance, the EAI-I131, with Nvidia Jetson Orin SoC. With a wide temperature range and up to 100 TOPS of AI computing inference, the companies say it enables diverse AI workloads at the network edge.

The device also offers LTE, 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity options and various ports for connectivity. META-aivi, a technology developed by Solomon, enhances human perception through AI-powered image and video analysis. By utilizing augmented reality (AR) glasses, the company notes that operators can perform tasks with minimal guidance for improved safety, security and work performance. META-aivi is compatible with smartphones, tablets, IP cameras, body cameras and AR glasses.

Lanner Electronics provides design, engineering and manufacturing services for network appliances, industrial computers, power substation computers and edge AI appliances.

Solomon Technology Corporation, established in 1990, is a global provider of 3D vision systems and industrial AI. The offerings include 3D cameras and deep learning software platforms.

In May, Lanner Electronics partnered with Landing AI to develop a cloud-based computer vision solution for quality inspection in the manufacturing and industrial sectors.

Landing AI’s industrial AI vision inspection platform, LandingLens, is now integrated with Lanner Electronics’ LEC-2290E, a rugged edge AI device certified by Nvidia.

According to Tseng, teaming up with Landing AI provides system integrators with a comprehensive edge AI platform. This platform comprises a high-performing AI model and a robust Nvidia-certified edge AI appliance. The solution combines components to provide real-time AI insights, empowering organizations to make informed decisions quickly.
