FreeWave partners with Viasat ELEVATE to power next-gen IIoT solutions
Viasat, Inc., a satellite communication provider, has announced that FreeWave Technologies, an IoT solution manufacturer, has joined its ELEVATE program.
ELEVATE is a growth program, ecosystem, and marketplace that allows IoT solution providers, connectivity wholesalers, enablers and OEMs to scale with Viasat’s network. As an ELEVATE partner, FreeWave offers IoT data-driven network solutions to customers with remote operations.
The collaboration will expand FreeWave’s access to Viasat’s global L-band network, enabling it to offer IoT and satellite connectivity services. In other words, the company says it can now deliver reliable IoT solutions in challenging environments.
Viasat notes that its ELEVATE marketplace connects customers to a wide range of satellite connectivity and IoT solutions to enhance business efficiency, safety and sustainability.
Simon Hawkins, Viasat’s vice president of enterprise commercial & innovation, notes that ELEVATE is a primary hub for satellite IoT innovation.
“More industries will be able to benefit from the wide-ranging benefits offered by industrial IoT,” Hawkins continues.
FreeWave, based in Boulder, Colorado, is a global IoT manufacturer specializing in edge computing devices and applications. They offer data brokering, visualizations, and analytics through their FreeWave Insights Platform as a Service.
Michael Tate, the chief operating officer and SVP of sales and marketing at FreeWave highlights how Viasat’s satellite connectivity ensures reliable delivery of critical data for customers’ remote networks, empowering them to make more informed decisions.

Membership to the ELEVATE program is open to providers from diverse industries such as agriculture, aid and NGOs, energy, exploration and leisure, media, mining, transport, utilities and technology.
