EDJX rolls out Serverless Edge Computing platform across 6×7 Networks’ infrastructure
EDJX has entered a partnership with 6×7 Networks to make its Serverless Edge computing platform available across the latter’s network, the companies announced. The goal: increase compute density and reduce latency for edge and IoT developers.
Launched in November 2019, the public beta of EDJX Serverless Edge grants secure access to a platform for writing, testing and deploying IoT, M2M, and mobile edge apps. The platform will be rolled out across more than 500 Points-of-Presence (PoPs) and over 100,000 edge locations around the world, adding thousands of 6×7 Networks locations for developers to use.
Under the partnership, 6×7 Networks provides cloud services at the edge, including serverless computing, object storage and distributed ledger.
“EDJX’s platform enables developers to deploy applications with ease across our global Tier 1 infrastructure network. Use cases with sub-millisecond latency across entire metro areas, including full cellular Evolved Packet Cores, are now possible” said Benjamin Cannon, 6×7 Networks CEO, in a prepared statement. 6×7 is a provider of datacenter and networking services. The two companies are positioned to enable innovation at the edge across 6 continents and 190 countries, according to Cannon.
