Duos Edge AI opens Abilene data center to localize compute for West Texas schools
Duos Technologies Group subsidiary Duos Edge AI has unveiled a new edge data center (EDC) in Abilene, Texas with Region 14 Education Service Center (ESC).
The EDC is working to improve digital infrastructure for K-12 education, healthcare, workforce development and local businesses across West Texas. The center will support more than 40 school districts and charter schools throughout an 11-county area with high-speed, low-latency AI capabilities and secure processing of data.

The facility is intended to help close the digital divide in rural and underserved communities, making businesses less reliant on far-off centralized data centers.
This deployment is in line with Duos Edge AI’s overall effort to grow edge computing workloads in Texas, as the company has done the same in Amarillo, Waco and Victoria.
The EDC will be a carrier-neutral colocation data center capable of real-time data processing and AI driven applications.
The project plans to become fully functional during early 2026 with a launch event scheduled at the Region 14 ESC headquarters.
Duos Edge AI opened its fifth edge data center in the rural Texas panhandle last September.
