Congatec debuts new small footprint, high-performance computer modules at embedded world 2023
Congatec, an embedded and edge computing tech vendor, will showcase its COM-HPC ecosystem consisting of Server-on-Modules, ultra-compact Client-on-Modules and tailored cooling solutions at the embedded world 2023 trade show. Congatec says this ecosystem can offer a performance boost and an increased number of interfaces even for space-constrained solutions. Congetec says this technology will allow product families to migrate to the PICMG standard without requiring significant modifications.
“With this new form factor, Congatec is providing an entirely new high-performance perspective, in particular for ultra-compact system designs,” said Thorsten Heller, CEO of Congatec.
Congatec recently introduced high-performance Computer-on-Modules with 13th gen Intel core processors on COM-HPC in two sizes. According to the company, thanks to state-of-the-art connectivity, the COM-HPC standard offers increased data throughput, I/O bandwidth and performance density. congatec’s COM Express 3.1 compliant modules with 13th gen Intel core processors provide upgrade options for existing OEM designs with PCIe Gen 4 support, the company says.
The COM-HPC Mini form factor is the smallest COM-HPC footprint, measuring 95×60 mm, and provides a solution for developers who wish to create ultra-compact high-performance designs such as DIN rail PCs or rugged handhelds and tablets. This smaller size allows them to migrate existing COM Express designs while still being able to utilize the latest interface technologies.
“We are excited to offer developers a new way to address their system design problems and take advantage of the latest interface technologies,” added Heller.
Real-Time Systems, a hypervisor technology provider and part of the Congatec Group, recently acquired Arendar IT-Security GmbH to provide edge computing services for secure OT/IT connectivity, expand its service portfolio and enable the digitalization of industrial machines, plants and processes. The company’s RTS Hypervisor is a real-time hypervisor with safety protocols.
The Arendar portfolio offers solutions for reading data from PLCs, field buses and sensors, creating added value with horizontal IoT integration, connecting business IT with OT and remote control and maintenance of systems. The company says the acquisition is part of RTS’ strategic positioning in the industrial automation and communications infrastructure market.
