Azion recognized as key player in edge computing by Forrester

Azion has been recognized as a strong performer in The Forrester Wave: Edge Development Platforms, Q4 2023 report. Forrester says this report assessed twelve providers and helps application development and delivery professionals make well-informed edge development platform decisions.

Forrester notes that modern solutions simplify applications’ development, deployment and maintenance at the edge, enabling organizations to distribute workloads for enhanced customer engagement and maximum value. Today’s enterprise-grade edge development platforms offer web application security, AI-enhanced workload affinity and support for various use cases, the firm adds.

Azion, recognized as a strong performer in the Forrester report, achieves high scores in runtime execution environment, programming model and observability criteria.

Rafael Umann, the CEO of Azion, says there is a growing demand for solutions that can help facilitate edge computing adoption within organizations. Based on feedback from developers, Azion’s edge computing platform simplifies the process of building and running modern applications.

“We believe the recognition from Forrester validates our efforts and proves that our innovative solution is a strong asset to help solve a critical challenge and positively impact infrastructure and operations,” Usmann adds.

According to the report, Azion’s platform empowers large enterprise developers to build and deploy full-stack applications to a managed edge infrastructure. It aligns with market trends by focusing on open standards and reducing the operations overhead of delivering distributed applications. Forrester’s report notes that Azion is a good fit for large enterprises looking to accelerate innovation at the edge with serverless full-stack applications.

Last year, Azion launched a marketplace that enables open-source communities and software developers to offer edge solutions through its edge computing platform. This marketplace provides various integrated partner solutions, including security, data analytics and artificial intelligence applications.

The company says the marketplace allows developers to combine tools and software. Clients can directly purchase third-party edge solutions from developers and integrate them with the platform. Developers can also utilize existing licenses through a bring-your-own-license model.
