AVerMedia debuts migration services for Intel to Nvidia GPUs; offers AI model optimization

AVerMedia Technologies, a company specializing in embedded hardware platforms, has introduced two new offerings under its AVerAI portfolio that will help companies that want to move their edge applications to Nvdia-based systems.

One of these services facilitates migrating Linux software from x86-based hardware to Nvidia Jetson Orin devices. The other offering optimizes AI models for specific applications using the Nvidia Jetson SDK and TAO.

AVerMedia’s migration service transfers x86-based hardware to AVerMedia D315AOB BoxPC, which equips multiple industries with the tools to handle demanding and data-intensive edge workloads.

AVerMedia says it recognizes the increasing need for businesses to transfer from Intel-based GPUs to Nvidia hardware platforms — a need that could increase in response to Intel’s decision to sell its NUC hardware business to manufacturing company ASUS. AVerMedia’s response its to offer a solution encompassing software migration to the Nvidia platform, allowing partners access to a model optimization service.

“Most customers are not familiar with how the software works in different environments, but we’ve been doing this for four years, and as a certified partner, we’re able to optimize for AVerMedia hardware targets,” says Vincent Tsai, global marketing director for AVerMedia Technologies.

The AutoML feature in the Nvidia TAO toolkit makes optimizing AI models efficient. With this feature, customers can use real-world datasets to improve the performance and accuracy of their AI models based on their specific needs and applications.

At the Computex Taipei event, AVerMedia presented its AVerAI services, which integrate with the Nvidia DeepStream multimedia streaming analytics SDK to create edge solutions.

During the event demonstrations, a variety of applications were showcased. One of the demos was the AI Green Coffee Bean Selection Machine which combines AI scene recognition abilities and a 4K zoom lens. The machine was able to efficiently and accurately sort coffee beans.

The AI Green Coffee Bean Selection Machine uses Nvidia Jetson Orin NX technology with multiple interfaces, including M.2 slots for Wi-Fi and storage devices.
