Advantech, an embedded computing solution provider, recently launched the DS-450, a palm-sized edge computer designed for kiosk and workspace applications.

Advantech says the DS-450 device displays lifelike UHD (4K) content with a compact size and direct-soldered design for enhanced stability and durability. Ideal for digital signage applications, the company notes that it delivers reliable performance for integration into kiosks, screens or workspaces.

The DS-450 also offers a range of connection options. With multiple USB and LAN ports, HDMI outputs, and a flexible function port, it accommodates a range of devices

The company additionally says that the DS-450 device is designed for continuous operation. With active fan cooling and adjustable fan speed, the company notes this device ensures efficient operation and minimal power consumption. Its low surface temperatures suit various locations, including meeting rooms. Additionally, it offers 24/7 operation, an extended lifespan and can withstand an operating temperature range of 0 – 45°C.

Advantech, founded in 1983, offers products, services and solutions for various industries. With comprehensive system integration, customer-centric design services, and global logistics support, Advantech says it enables an intelligent planet with Automation and Embedded Computing products.

Meanwhile, Advantech Embedded-IoT Group offers a range of design-in services and integrated IoT solutions. The company notes that its offerings, including sensor nodes, gateways, Edge Intelligence Server (EIS) and the WISE-PaaS IoT software platform, assist customers in adopting IoT technologies.

In December, SBBT.live’s BeBroadband as a Service and Advantech collaborated to enhance edge connectivity solutions for SMEs in the security and industrial IoT sector.

Due to the partnership, BeBroadband as a Service now comes preloaded on Advantech edge devices.

BBT.live and Advantech have partnered to bring a subscription-based connectivity and security platform to Advantech’s edge devices.
