Adlink prepares for industry collaborations to boost edge computing capabilities

Adlink Technologies Inc, an edge computing provider, recently announced its progress with strategic collaborations via its EdgeOpen platform.

Adlink notes that its EdgeOpen co-creation platform facilitates collaboration and industry value chain consolidation. Adlink recently organized the EdgeOpen Consortium, a three-day event that brought together over 150 industry experts, decision-makers and ecosystem partners. The focus was on co-creation opportunities.

Adlink’s chairman and CEO, Jim Liu, says: “In times of continuous market fluctuations, businesses should proactively confront uncertainty.”

The company aims to expand its edge computing, edge AI, and visualization expertise by collaborating with companies such as NVIDIA, Foxconn, TTTech Auto, NXP and MediaTek.

Adlink’s partnership with NVIDIA introduces “Pocket AI,” a portable GPU accelerator that enhances professional graphics applications and empowers AI developers.

Adlink and Foxconn’s collaboration has established FARobot, a joint venture focused on developing “Swarm Autonomy.” The solution focuses on the growing trend of intelligent robotics and aims to make an impact in the field of autonomous mobile robots.

Adlink also received a strategic investment from TTTech Auto via its spinoff company, ZettaScale Technology. The partnership led to the launch of Zetta Auto, a solution for in-vehicle and V2X communication. By combining TTTech Auto’s automotive knowledge with ZettaScale’s technological comprehension, the companies say the partnership aims to drive innovations for software-defined vehicles.

The company predicts that the sectors set to benefit from Adlink collaborations include smart factories, networking, autonomous mobile robots, smart healthcare, autonomous driving and smart cockpits.

Towards the end of 2021, Adlink expanded its AI-enabled Video Analytics (AVA) platform portfolio with AVA-RAGX. This rugged platform, built on Nvidia’s Jetson AGX Xavier module, is designed for edge-type railway applications, including hazard detection, passenger security, intrusion detection and video surveillance at train stations.

According to Eric Kao, the general manager of Adlink’s networking, communication and public sector business unit, artificial intelligence is speeding up the digital transformation of the railway industry. He adds that this transformation aims to enhance operational efficiency, provide smarter and safer customer services and open up new business opportunities.
